This includes having to brainstorm ways to reach from Point A to Point B. And they aren't necessarily the easiest, as they also have their own set of challenges. The game has a ton of areas to explore, and each area has its own set of methods of traversal. This includes the addition of the new Ascension Cables, which makes Cal go up and down as if he's Peter Parker in New York City. However, the new elements make the traversal experience, even more fun. Just like the original, the game has all sorts of slopes to climb, wall rides to attempt, and ropes to hang onto. And in Jedi: Survivor, Respawn pushes that envelope to whole another level. Jedi: Fallen Order had every bit of traversal mechanic that one might see in a third-person RPG franchise like Lara Croft. I'll admit that this might be a head-scratcher for many. Every character in the game has its moments, and they're all intertwined with each other as survivors of an Empire that is out to get them. The plot of Jedi: Survivor is one for the ages when it comes to the Star Wars universe. But it's also about having to face the ones lost from their Order and their beliefs.
Unlike the original, the story isn't just surviving the Galactic Empire. While Jedi: Fallen Order showed how survivors can rise above the darkness through hope, Jedi: Survivor shows what happens if they don't. Moreover, the story also sheds light on the perils of keeping your closed ones safe, which requires taking decisions that harm the safety of others. However, the sequel adds more to the table, with themes of loyalty and betrayal at the center of it all. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor features story elements like trauma and tragedy, which were already present in Fallen Order. Along with Monaghan's characters, there are new allies like Bode Akuna alongside old ones like Cere Junda, Mantis captain Greez and Nightsister Merrin. Instead, we now see a much more matured and scarred version of the character, and actor Cameron Monaghan is on top of his game as Kestis.
Kestis is no longer the scared Jedi Padawan that we saw in Fallen Order. However, at the end of the day, his actions haven't produced the results that one would hope to see. However, this time he isn't hiding, as he's been trying his best to be a thorn to the Galactic Empire. As mentioned in the title itself, series protagonist Cal Kestis is on the run, once again.
